Residency Approved

Well, we had a blessing this week. We were approved as "Permanent Residents."

No, that does not mean we are forced to live here forever.

What it does mean is that we are no longer required to have a visa to live here. It will be easier to come and go and, theoretically at least, it should be easier to do things like rent an apartment, get credit.

Of course, we know that this world is not our home. We will continue to seek God's will and leading. For now, though, we know that He wants us in Okinawa.

That's wonderful! It didn't take all that long to get your permenant residency, did it? I thought the norm was around 10 years living in Japan.

I will probably try the nikkei route since I am of Japanese ancestory after JET.

How's the weather in Okinawa now? It's really pleasant here in Kyushu. I think fall is now my favorite season...hehehehe...of course until this year I've only really experienced summer and really hot summer in Hawaii.

Hi Bobby,

It usually does take 10 years. It was all God's doing! I had a visa of a dependent of a Japanese national and that helped too. Of course we had to do some other paper work also.

It's still hot here, but the evenings and mornings are cooling off. After coming to Japan, Fall has become my favorite season too! Fall in Kyushu is beautiful...

Aloha,
Debe ;)
